Years Gone By

Years Gone By

We had some great fun this year with dance videos being something of theme. In the year of the Harlem Shake some people went a little crazy with their dancing Outdoor Ed style!! Stories were shared as postcards were sent and local property owners were delighted to receive cards from groups who access their land.

Another fantastic year with over 2300 postcards being sent with stories of Outdoor Education experiences being shared all over Australia. The department of Sport and Recreation in Western Australia made a massive contribution this year. The Western Australia crew managed to have the most participants register for Outdoor Education Week and you will find below a video of a trangia assembly competition involving some blindfolded students. One of the many events that took place around the country helping to celebrate our 3rd annual Outdoor Education Week.

Our Swiss counterparts have been let off the hook again this year with over 400 young people from around Australia having a crack at the World record.A big thanks to the team at Golden Grove High School who managed to get the most people involved from the one centre or school with 40 participants at the one venue. We continue to build momentum and will look to reach those magnificent Swiss heights in the years to come. A couple of images from outdoor education week this year.

The big day has come and gone and the reports have been streaming in of people all over Australia getting stuck into some serious orienteering today. Congratulations to all the participants. We need to wait for the registration forms to come online to get a final count of our numbers. Here is a little video of some students from Scott’s College, Glengarry enjoying their world record attempt.
